Cosmorama Cos`mo*ra"ma (k?z`m?-r?"m? or -r?"m?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. ko`smos the world + ??? a sight, spectacle, fr. ??? to see.] An exhibition in which a series of views in various parts of the world is seen reflected by mirrors through a series of lenses, with such illumination, etc., as will make the views most closely represent reality.

Cyclorama Cy`clo*ra"ma (s?`kl?-r?"m? or -r?"m?), n. [Cyclo- + Gr. "o`rama sight, spectacle.] A pictorial view which is extended circularly, so that the spectator is surrounded by the objects represented as by things in nature. The realistic effect is increased by putting, in the space between the spectator and the picture, things adapted to the scene represented, and in some places only parts of these objects, the completion of them being carried out pictorially.

A mode of scenic representation, invented by Daguerre and Bouton, in which a painting is seen from a distance through a large opening. By a combination of transparent and opaque painting, and of transmitted and reflected light, and by contrivances such as screens and shutters, much diversity of scenic effect is produced. 2. A building used for such an exhibition.
