Mizzen Mizzen Miz"zen, a. [It. mezzana, fr. mezzano middle, fr. mezzo
middle, half: cf. F. misaine foresail. See Mezzo.] (Naut.)
Hindmost; nearest the stern; as, the mizzen shrouds, sails,
etc.
