Gerbil Ger"bil, Gerbille Ger`bille", n. [F. gerbille. Cf. Jerboa.] (Zo["o]l.) One of several species of small, jumping, murine rodents, of the genus Gerbillus. In their leaping powers they resemble the jerboa. They inhabit Africa, India, and Southern Europe.
